Previous adventures:
From June 7 to June 25, we will be working with the Foundation for the Development of Needy Communities (FDNC). This organization is a local non governmental Organization (NGO) that strives to promote the productivity, innovativeness and self-reliance of disadvantaged and underserved communities. They work to promote social justice, and development for sustainable livelihoods in Uganda. They are particularly sensitive to the needs of youth, children, women; HIV/AIDS infected and affected people and other vulnerable groups. They work in a community based approach – working together with grassroots communities to build up and support these groups. Specifically, we have been invited to partner with FDNC to develop relationships and understanding between our cultures. The money raised will be used for construction of a special needs classroom, completion of a kitchen and dining facility at the Vocational Training Center and community health work in villages as well as covering some of the travel expenses for the group.
