He is extrememly impressed with the progress at the Heart Hospital which now does 800 cases a year, (0-800 in seven years) which would put them in the top 20% of high volume cardiac surgery centers by U.S. standards. Fred spent a lot of the week, at the envy of all the women, with Dr. Koirala who founded the heart hospital. Not only is he a world class administrator but an excellent surgeon and a leader that promotes teamwork, honesty, transparency, integrity, dedication, training, passion and attends to the welfare of patients from all walks of life.
Fred presented 20 heart valves to the Princess Jayanthi Memorial Trust, which were gratefully received by two of the princesses and the board of directors of the trust – at a lovely cocktail reception where they expressed their appreciation for our support that makes a significant impact on their ability to provide heart surgery to needy heart patients, many of whom are children.
