Kampala – June 24, 2007
Today was a pretty uneventful day, we headed out to do some shopping in the markets. We went to a little market district and purchased gifts for family and friends. The markets are filled with all kinds of African stuff and if we had any space in our luggage most of us filled it with gifts. It was fun but I really dislike haggling with the merchants over price. I did well but it always leaves a sour taste in my mouth. As luck would have it the House of 1000 coffees was across the street and I think that made a big chunk of people really happy.
Later that night we headed to a place called Sams for our last dinner in Uganda as a group. The food was excellent, kind of an Indian meets Western kind of thing and it was another opportunity to “unpack” the whole trip.
Back at the hostel, the district we were in was without power so of course there was no internet. Some played cards and others went to bed.
